Transforming a 25m² Video Studio

Updated: Sep 22, 2024

Sound Footing Productions has a new video studio. With projects coming up that need a consistent look, and very limited time to set up and tear down, renting a small studio space makes life easier.

The room is 25m². Small, but well proportioned for building a set and placing lights. It originally sounded awful, with reflective surfaces and no absorbtion. By adding a rug with underlay, fibreglass acoustic panels and moving blankets on stands, the reflections were silenced and clean audio is easy to capture. It's also very quiet.

After adding lights, some basic Ikea furniture and props, the space has turned into a versatile studio able to accomplish a two camera interview-style shoot. Printed fabric photo backgrounds also mean that different aesthetics can be accomplished quickly and easily.

With this in place, the next project can take flight. Stay tuned...
